As young travelers, we loved the modern and clever layout of the huts, equipped with comfortable beds and nice bedding. The fenced zones and wooden signposts added a unique touch, and the stone campfire areas were a great addition. The picnic bench and rattan dining furniture provided a perfect spot to enjoy meals. The setting on a working farm with cows and a stream created a charming atmosphere. The grassed areas were well-maintained, and the family feel with the owner's children added a welcoming touch. The location was also convenient, being a short distance from the River Dart country park.
We felt privileged and had no complaints at all.

The location of this accommodation is truly stunning, set amidst the beauty of Dartmoor. the stream running through adds to the tranquility, making it a perfect getaway. the huts themselves are modern and well-equipped, with comfortable beds and immaculate bedding. the kitchenette, BBQ, and firepit provide convenience and a chance to enjoy outdoor cooking. the well-maintained grassed areas and picnic/dining furniture add to the overall enjoyment of the stay.
It would have been helpful to have some fire lighters provided, as the slightly damp wood made it difficult to get the fire started.

The hut was very cosy and comfortable, perfect for a quiet and peaceful getaway. The location was beautiful, tucked away at the end of a small lane. It was easy to find and offered a peaceful escape from the world. The hosts were friendly and helpful, providing directions to a local pub that served an excellent pie. a very comfortable and relaxing stay.
One drawback was the limited lighting around the area, with some of them not working. This made it a bit difficult to find the specific hut we were staying in.

Spacious and Well-equipped Kitchenette: This chalet definitely had the perfect set-up for those who love cooking. The kitchenware provided was top-notch, ready to tackle any culinary adventure. I felt like a master chef in a five-star restaurant, except with a beautiful view of the garden instead of a bustling kitchen.
Fireplace Instructions: A minor issue was that the instructions for the fireplace seemed a bit unclear. I couldn't find the secondary or tertiary controls mentioned, but as we were only staying for one night, it wasn't a major inconvenience.

The surrounding area was incredibly peaceful, with a private fenced-off outdoor space and allocated parking. The hut itself was modern, cleverly laid out, and equipped with everything we needed. The campsite was spotlessly clean and had a lovely outdoor dining area with a fire pit. The farm setting with cows and a stream added to the charm, and the owners' well-behaved children added a family-friendly atmosphere. A short journey away from a great day out at The River Dart country park.

My recent stay at Herdwick Shepherd Hut in Exeter was absolutely delightful. The hut was clean and cozy, providing a comfortable retreat after long days of exploring Dartmoor National Park. The location was perfect for nature enthusiasts like myself, offering stunning views and peaceful surroundings. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor space provided with the hut, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the countryside. Additionally, the hut was equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay.
There were a couple of minor inconveniences during my visit. The top bunk was positioned too close to the ceiling, making it a bit challenging to access.

The kitchenware was totally my style, perfect for whipping up a gourmet camping feast while sipping Champagne. The dining area was so posh, it made me feel like a Queen enjoying her meal. And the barbecue? Well, let's just say I had a fabulous time charring my sausages to perfection.
Ah, who needs a reception or information anyway? Just wander around aimlessly, get scolded by a random person's mom, and play a fun game of "Guess the Footpath".

The Herdwick Shepherd Hut in Exeter is nestled in the fine Dartmoor countryside, offering beautiful surroundings and well-maintained facilities. The site is positioned conveniently close to the River Dart country park, making it a great base for exploration. The huts themselves are modern, cleverly laid out, and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owners' attention to detail is evident in the thoughtful zones, fencing, and wooden signposts that add a charming touch. The family-friendly atmosphere, with the owners' well-behaved children helping out on the site, creates a cute and relaxed ambiance.
While staying at the Herdwick Shepherd Hut, there were a few minor drawbacks. The BBQ could have been cleaner, and it was unfortunate to find greasy kitchen roll and medication packaging in the log burner.
